Carlo Ancelotti has been formally presented as the new manager of the Brazilian national team during a press conference held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Rio de Janeiro.
“It’s an honour to coach the best national team in the world. Brazil has won five World Cups and chose me to help win a sixth — I take that responsibility on with pride. This job demands a lot, and the challenge is massive. I’ll do everything I can to reach the highest level,” said Ancelotti.
He also addressed questions about Italy:
“The Italian national team never contacted me, and now they have a great coach in Spalletti. I’m very proud to be here in Brazil.”
Ancelotti confirmed he has already spoken with Neymar, saying they are counting on him. He also praised Vinícius Júnior, calling him “a key player for the Seleção.”
Brazil’s next fixtures are part of the 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign, with matches scheduled against Ecuador on June 5 and Paraguay on June 10. The next World Cup will be held across the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
