Monday promises thrilling matches in Turin: Alcaraz seeks redemption, while Italian duo Bolelli-Vavassori take on Bopanna-Ebden

Monday, November 11, will be a key day at the ATP Finals in men’s tennis. Four matches are scheduled on the indoor hard court at Turin’s Pala Alpitour, with two singles and two doubles matches on the agenda.

Carlos Alcaraz will begin his journey towards the final against Casper Ruud. It won’t be an easy match for the world No. 2, who faces a tough opponent in the Norwegian. Alcaraz recently lost in the round of 16 at the Paris ATP, falling in three sets to home favorite Ugo Humbert, as well as in the final against Sinner in Saudi Arabia. Ruud is also in a challenging phase, having lost in the first rounds of both Paris and Metz, to Jordan Thompson and Benjamin Bonzi, respectively.

An in-form Alexander Zverev will take on Andrey Rublev in the evening match at the Italian arena. Zverev had a strong run in France, capturing the title with a dominant 6-2, 6-2 win over Humbert. In Metz, Rublev reached the quarterfinals before withdrawing ahead of a match with Corentin Moutet; he had previously overcome Lorenzo Sonego in a tough two-set match.

In doubles, Italian pair Bolelli-Vavassori will play on home ground against seasoned doubles players Bopanna-Ebden, who gave the Paris champions Koolhof-Mektic a hard time in the quarterfinals. The Italians were eliminated by surprise semifinalists Glasspool-Pavlasek, the tournament’s fifth seed. Arevalo-Pavic have struggled, coming off three consecutive losses, while Krawietz and Puetz, though limited in appearances this season, have proven to be a cohesive and challenging team for top-ranked opponents.
