World number one Jannik Sinner has avoided a matchup with Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz, who will face Zverev, Ruud, and Rublev

The 2024 ATP Finals are fast approaching, scheduled from November 10-17 in Turin on the indoor hard court of the Inalpi Arena. The group draw has been completed, and the first big news is that world number one Jannik Sinner has dodged a meeting with Carlos Alcaraz.

The South Tyrolean has been placed in the "Nastase" group alongside Russia’s Daniil Medvedev, America’s Taylor Fritz, and Australia’s Alex De Minaur. In the other group, “Newcombe,” we have Germany’s Alexander Zverev, Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz, Norway’s Casper Ruud, and Russia’s Andrey Rublev.

As for the doubles draw, Italians Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori are in the "Bob Bryan" group with top seeds Marcelo Arevalo and Mate Pavic. Also in this group are Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden and Germany’s Kevin Krawietz and Tim Puetz. The second-seeded duo Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos join the “Mike Bryan” group with Wesley Koolhof and Nikola Mektic, Max Purcell and Jordan Thompson, and Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten.

Returning to Sinner's “Nastase” group, the level of competitiveness is exceptionally high, promising thrilling matches as the ATP Finals approach. Regardless of the tournament outcome, Sinner will remain atop the world rankings by year-end.

Currently, Sinner leads with 11,330 points, holding a significant advantage over ATP number two Alexander Zverev, who stands at a distant 7,715 points. In the first round of the Turin ATP Finals, each player will compete in three matches, with 200 ATP ranking points up for grabs per win (for both singles and doubles). A semifinal win is worth 400 points, while the final victory grants an additional 500 points, making a flawless path to triumph worth a potential 1,500 points.
