Carlos Alcaraz, ATP No. 3, breezed past Japan’s Yoshihito Nishioka with a commanding 6-0, 6-1, 6-4 victory. Novak Djokovic, seeded seventh, faced a more challenging match but defeated Portugal’s Jaime Faria (world No. 125) 3-1 after a three-hour battle.
A major upset came as world No. 6 Casper Ruud fell to Czech Jakub Mensik in four sets (2-6, 6-3, 1-6, 4-6). Meanwhile, Alexander Zverev (No. 2 ATP) easily defeated Spain's Pedro Martinez 6-1, 6-4, 6-1. The Italian doubles team of Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori began their campaign with a strong 2-0 win over Germany's Constantin Frantzen and Hendrik Jebens (6-3, 6-4) in just over an hour. However, Marco Bortolotti and Flavio Cobolli were eliminated after losing to the Italian-Ecuadorian duo Luciano Darderi and Diego Hidalgo (5-7, 4-6).

In the women’s singles, Aryna Sabalenka, world No. 1, defeated Spain’s Jessica Bouzas-Maneiro (No. 54 WTA) in straight sets (6-3, 7-5). Jessica Pegula, world No. 6, also advanced after a dominant 6-4, 6-2 win against Belgium’s Elise Mertens (No. 34).
Naomi Osaka, ranked 51st, made an impressive comeback against Karolina Muchova (No. 20 WTA), who won the first set 6-1. Osaka rebounded to claim the next two sets (6-1, 6-3) and advance to the next round. American Coco Gauff (world No. 3) secured a 6-3, 7-5 victory over British player Jodie Burrage (No. 173).
Seventeen-year-old Russian Mirra Andreeva (No. 15 WTA) battled past Japan’s Moyuka Uchijima (No. 63 WTA) in three sets (4-6, 6-3, 6-7 [8-10]) after more than two hours of play. Paula Badosa, world No. 12, had a straightforward win, defeating Australia’s Talia Gibson (No. 150 WTA) 6-1, 6-0.
Other players moving into the third round include Vekic, Siegemund, Tauson, Danilovic, Frech, Bencic, Fernandez, Pavlyuchenkova, Shnaider, and Kostyuk.
