However, the biggest shock of the tournament so far came from Novak Djokovic, who was eliminated in his opening match by lucky loser Botic van de Zandschulp. The Dutchman delivered a stunning performance, defeating the 24-time Grand Slam champion 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 to advance.
On the brighter side, Italy’s Matteo Arnaldi pulled off a major upset, beating seventh seed Andrey Rublev (6-4, 7-5), while world No.3 Carlos Alcaraz comfortably defeated Quentin Halys (6-4, 6-2).
