Bologna heads into the 2024/2025 season with a Champions League campaign to savor and enjoy. After an exhilarating season under Thiago Motta, now the new coach of Juventus, Bologna returns to the most prestigious European club competition after 60 years.
The club wasted no time and, bidding farewell to Thiago Motta, decisively appointed Vincenzo Italiano, formerly of Fiorentina, as the new head coach. Charisma, an attacking style of play, and enthusiasm are the cornerstones with which Bologna plans the new season. Meanwhile, their league debut is scheduled for Sunday, August 18, at Renato Dall'Ara against Udinese at 6:30 PM.
Orsolini and his teammates will then face Antonio Conte's Napoli at the Maradona on Sunday, August 25, at 8:45 PM. The sixth matchday will feature an intriguing Bologna-Atalanta clash with a Champions League flavor, while the ninth will see Milan visiting Dall'Ara. The Rossoblù will take on Roma and Lazio between the twelfth and thirteenth matchdays.
On the fifteenth matchday, Bologna will travel to Allianz Stadium to face Juventus, followed by the Apennine Derby against Fiorentina. On January 5, 2025, for the final matchday of the first half of the season, Italiano's team will visit the Meazza to challenge the reigning Italian champions, Inter.
