The Blues ease past Espérance to book their place in the knockout stage, while Bayern are stunned by Benfica and miss out on top spot

The Round of 16 bracket at the Club World Cup is taking shape, with half of the teams already through to the knockout stage. In Group C, there was a minor upset: Benfica beat Bayern Munich 1–0 in the match that decided the top two positions in a group where both teams had already secured qualification. The Portuguese side claimed first place, pushing the Germans into second. The other match saw Auckland City and Boca Juniors draw 1–1.

In Group D, as expected, Chelsea cruised past Espérance with a 3–0 victory, while Flamengo drew 1–1 with Los Angeles FC. As a result, the Brazilian side topped the group, with the English team finishing second.
