The top of Serie A saw all the leading teams come out victorious, with "consistency" being the key word of the weekend after the international break. Despite the common risk of a post-break slip-up, Napoli, Inter, Juventus, and Milan all delivered when it mattered.
Saturday's action started with two draws. Como and Parma finished 1-1 at the Sinigaglia, with actors Hugh Grant and Andrew Garfield in the stands. A backheel goal from Bonny put Parma ahead, but Como’s Nico Paz leveled the score with his first Serie A goal. Meanwhile, Genoa and Bologna shared a 2-2 draw, with Bologna leading 2-0 thanks to Orsolini and Odgaard before Pinamonti's brace salvaged a point for Genoa.
Cagliari continued their positive momentum with a 3-2 win over Torino at home. Despite going behind to a Linetty goal after Viola’s opener, Cagliari fought back with goals from Palomino and a Coco own goal.
After their heavy defeat to Fiorentina, Milan bounced back with a 1-0 win over Udinese, with Chukwueze scoring the decisive goal. Despite being reduced to 10 men after Reijnders’ red card, Milan held on, though Udinese had a late goal from Kabasele controversially disallowed.
Thiago Motta’s Juventus secured a narrow 1-0 win against Lazio, who played most of the match with 10 men after Romagnoli's red card. Gila’s own goal in the 85th minute handed Juventus the win, though the match ended in controversy over a yellow card for a reckless challenge by Douglas Luiz.
Conte’s Napoli needed a Kvaratskhelia penalty to edge past a resilient Empoli. Conte made key substitutions at halftime, bringing on Simeone and Olivera, and Kvaratskhelia's spot-kick secured a hard-fought victory to maintain their lead at the top of the table.
Fiorentina delivered a resounding 6-0 victory over Lecce at the Via del Mare. Cataldi and Colpani both scored twice, while Beltran and Parisi added to the tally after Lecce were reduced to 10 men following Gallo’s red card. Retegui’s eighth goal in eight matches sealed a dominant performance for the Viola.
Atalanta also celebrated a 2-0 win at Venezia, with Pasalic and Retegui on the scoresheet, as the Argentinian continues his goal-scoring form.
The weekend ended with Inter securing their third straight league win, and fourth overall, by defeating Roma 1-0. Captain Lautaro Martinez’s powerful strike decided the match at the Stadio Olimpico, keeping Inter two points behind Napoli at the top. Juventus follows in third with 16 points, Milan in fourth with 14, while Fiorentina, Atalanta, Lazio, and Udinese all sit on 13 points.
