Born in 2009, raised in Los Angeles, and trained in U.S. soccer, she is now joining the youth squad of the Juventus Women’s team.
Another Del Piero at Juventus. Or rather, another one. Dorotea, Alex Del Piero's daughter, is set to join the Juventus Women’s youth team. The 2009-born player, raised in Los Angeles where she also took her first steps in soccer, will now join the Under-17 team of the Juventus Women's squad. The team, coached by Luca Scarcella, is coming off last season’s youth league final.
In her early career in the U.S., Dorotea always played as a forward, wearing the number 7 jersey. Her mother, Sonia Amoruso, often documented the 15-year-old's journey on social media. Some of the videos have even gone viral in recent years: in one from 2020, Dorotea can be seen starting from midfield, dribbling past a defender, and scoring a beautiful right-footed goal reminiscent of her father Alex’s brilliance.
Juventus Women didn’t miss the opportunity to welcome the Del Piero family back to Italy. Alex's eldest son, Tobias, has chosen to join the youth academy of Empoli and will start with the club's Under-18 team, aiming to build his career in Italy.
This season, young Dorotea will begin her new journey with Juventus. Seeing the Del Piero name on a Juventus jersey is sure to stir emotions among fans, who are always dreaming of Alex’s return in a managerial role. The arrival of his daughter could be the first step toward the former Juventus captain’s return to the club. After all, he has never hidden his intentions: “I would love to see myself at Juventus in the future, it's my club. But I believe it should happen naturally, and it should come from Juventus itself".
