The EuroLeague will tip off on October 3, 2024, with the Final Four scheduled for May 24-25, at a venue yet to be determined. Virtus Bologna has been granted a wild card for the third consecutive year. Joining them are the Italian champions, Olimpia Milano, while Valencia misses out to make room for Paris, the latest EuroCup winners.
Here are the 18 teams participating:
- ALBA Berlin (Germany)
- Anadolu Efes Istanbul (Turkey)
- AS Monaco (France)
- Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz (Spain)
- Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade (Serbia)
- EA7 Emporio Armani Milan (Italy)
- FC Barcelona (Spain)
- FC Bayern Munich (Germany)
- Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul (Turkey)
- LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne (France)
- Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv (Israel)

- Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade (Serbia)
- Real Madrid (Spain)
- Virtus Segafredo Bologna (Italy)
- Zalgiris Kaunas (Lithuania)
Panathinaikos, as the reigning champions, are the favorites heading into the season, followed closely by the usual powerhouses: Real Madrid, Olympiacos, Fenerbahce, and Barcelona. However, the two Italian teams, Olimpia Milano led by coach Ettore Messina, and Virtus Bologna under coach Luca Banchi, aim to surprise. Last season, Virtus Bologna reached the play-in stage, narrowly missing the Playoffs. Recently, they dispelled rumors of a potential sale: "Virtus Pallacanestro Bologna, following reports in national and international media, announces that no sale of the company's shares is taking place, and there are no ongoing negotiations."
Olimpia Milano has also been active, announcing the signings of Armoni Brooks, Nenad Dimitrijevic, Josh Nebo, Zach LeDay, Ousmane Diop, and Fabien Causeur from Real Madrid. The Italian champions will start the season without Nic Melli but maintain high ambitions for both domestic and European titles.
The format for the 2024-2025 EuroLeague remains unchanged, with the play-in stage determining the final spots for the Playoffs. The excitement and competition promise to be as fierce as ever.
