The first matchday of the Champions League will feel like a mini Italy-England showdown: Inter will play in Manchester against City, while Milan and Atalanta will face Liverpool and Arsenal, respectively

After the international break, the 2024-2025 season will officially begin. In addition to national tournaments, top clubs will compete in the single-group stage of the European Cups: Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League, all under the new format.

The action kicks off on Tuesday, September 17, with Juventus hosting PSV Eindhoven at the Allianz Stadium in Turin (kick-off at 18:45). Later that evening, Paulo Fonseca's Milan will welcome Liverpool, managed by Arne Slot, who thrashed Manchester United 3-0 last weekend, at the iconic San Siro.

On Wednesday, September 18, the reigning Italian champions Inter will take on Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium in a replay of the 2023 Champions League final. The Nerazzurri will play at 21:00, while Bologna will face Shakhtar Donetsk at the Dall’Ara at 18:45. The last Italian team in the Champions League, Atalanta, managed by Gasperini, will face Arteta’s Arsenal at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo on Thursday, September 18, one of the most intriguing fixtures of the European schedule.
