On the Spa circuit, the Australian driver takes victory and extends his lead in the drivers’ standings to +16 over his teammate

Rain, an hour-long stoppage, then the start. In the end, the Belgian GP delivered drama – and once again it was all about McLaren: their sixth one-two finish of the season, and the third in a row for the British team. Oscar Piastri triumphed ahead of Lando Norris, with the Australian doubling his lead in the drivers’ championship (now +16), counting the Sprint result as well. Charles Leclerc secured third place, his fifth podium of the season, successfully defending his qualifying spot from Max Verstappen’s late attacks.

Lewis Hamilton’s gamble to start from the back of the grid with a wetter set-up on his SF-25 paid off partially, as he produced a stirring comeback to seventh place. Mercedes salvaged some pride with George Russell finishing fifth ahead of Alex Albon, while youngster Kimi Antonelli ended his race in 16th place.
