Maranello presents the 2025 team apparel: a deeper shade of red, inspired by history and aerodynamics

A fresh start for Ferrari as the team embraces a revamped identity for the 2025 Formula 1 season. The Scuderia has unveiled its new uniforms for drivers and staff, hinting at a potential change in the livery of the upcoming SF-25, set to be officially presented on February 19 in Fiorano. Moving away from its signature bright red, Ferrari has opted for a darker, matte finish reminiscent of its classic race cars.

The release of the new uniforms coincides with ongoing Pirelli tire tests in Barcelona. Lewis Hamilton, who has already driven the 2023 Ferrari at Fiorano and Montmeló, made his first appearance in the 2024 car, running in a special configuration. The seven-time world champion completed 87 laps with a best time of 1’15”930, while Charles Leclerc clocked 86 laps, posting a fastest lap of 1’16”060. Also on track was Lando Norris in the McLaren, covering 159 laps and setting the quickest time of the day at 1’15”215. Testing continues on Wednesday, with Leclerc driving in the morning and Hamilton taking over in the afternoon.

The new Ferrari apparel immediately catches the eye. Gone are last season’s yellow accents, replaced by sleek white detailing on the sleeves, sides, and shoulders. Sponsors are more prominently displayed on both the front and back of the shirts. The fabric features a pinstripe effect, with intertwining shades of red that add a unique touch to the design.

But this isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s also about performance. The new color scheme echoes the deep burgundy Ferrari used at the 2000 Mugello Grand Prix and could hint at the SF-25’s anticipated livery. Reports suggest the car may feature a slightly rougher surface to improve aerodynamics and reduce drag. The real test will come during pre-season trials in Bahrain from February 26 to 28.
