After losing two consecutive finals, the Viola are back in the hunt for the Conference League. Key dates and transfer market

The Florentine Renaissance. Fiorentina is undergoing a revolution ahead of the new season, starting with the technical leadership. The Palladino era has begun following the end of Italiano's tenure, which concluded with the team's second consecutive Conference League final loss. The new Bologna coach, however, left a significant mark and a Fiorentina renewed in both objectives and international ambitions. Palladino thus inherits a heavy legacy, with the Viola seeking the Conference League for the third consecutive year.

The squad is also undergoing significant changes: key players such as Milenkovic, Bonaventura, and Duncan (the latter two leaving on free transfers) have departed, while new signings include Valentini on a free transfer, Pongracic from Lecce, and Moise Kean from Juventus. Commisso and his management have already invested around 30 million euros in incoming transfers. The club has also bid farewell to players like Arthur, Maxime Lopez, and Belotti and must resolve the situations of returning loan players, including Sabiri, Amrabat, and Brekalo.

Palladino's team's season will begin early with the Conference League playoff. The first leg is scheduled for Thursday, August 22, 2024, with the return leg on August 29. The draw will take place on August 5. Potential opponents include Lens and Real Betis. In the league, the debut is set for Saturday, August 17, at 6:30 PM against newly promoted Parma. The two big matches against rivals Juventus are scheduled for the 18th matchday (December 28-29, 2024) and the 29th matchday (March 15-16, 2025). The matches against the Italian champions, Inter, are set for the 14th matchday (December 1) and the 24th matchday (February 8-9, 2025).

Finally, the group stage of the Conference League, if they qualify, will begin on October 3, 2024, and end on December 19. Palladino's new Fiorentina aims to be there and return to the final: the competition's final, targeted by the Viola, is scheduled for Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at the Wrocław Stadium in Poland.
