Florian Wirtz has landed in England to finalise his record-breaking move to Liverpool, with a total deal worth £116.5 million (€137.5 million), including £100 million upfront and an additional £16.5 million in performance-based bonuses.
After arriving in Manchester on Thursday evening, the German starlet has already completed the first part of his medicals at Liverpool’s training centre, where he is set to sign a five-year contract. The move becomes the most expensive in Premier League history, surpassing the £115 million paid by Chelsea for Moisés Caicedo in 2023.
At Liverpool, Wirtz will reunite with former Bayer Leverkusen teammate Jeremie Frimpong, who joined the Reds earlier this summer for around £30 million. The two were recently spotted vacationing together.
