The 18th round of the Formula One World Championship takes place on the Marina Bay circuit in Singapore. It’s been a season full of surprises, with Max Verstappen initially seeming to have delivered a decisive blow, but Red Bull's issues and McLaren’s resurgence have shaken the confidence of the British team and the Dutch driver.
Mad Max hasn’t won in seven Grands Prix, and in four of them, he even finished off the podium. His lead over Norris in the drivers’ standings has narrowed to 59 points, and if it weren’t for Ferrari’s resurgence in the Monza and Azerbaijan GPs, the gap between the Dutch ace and the British driver could have been even smaller.
Last year, it was Ferrari who won the Singapore Grand Prix with Carlos Sainz ahead of Norris and Hamilton. The Prancing Horse is more determined than ever after the triumph "at home" and a second place in Azerbaijan, which, as highlighted by Team Principal Frederic Vasseur, reignites the Scuderia’s ambitions in the standings - not only in the drivers’ championship but also in the constructors' standings: "We would love to repeat last year’s feat this weekend, continuing to work well as a team, just as we have in recent races."
