The new Inter 2024-2025 under Simone Inzaghi is taking shape. The Italian champions, now under the ownership of Oaktree and the new presidency of Marotta, have secured all their key players and added new pieces to their squad. Most notably, Zielinski and Taremi, two players of quality and great experience, have been brought in to bolster the team with the aim of maintaining their dominance in Serie A and becoming contenders in the Champions League once again.
In the new season, Inter will also compete in the Italian Supercup, scheduled for early January 2025, and the new Club World Cup, organized by FIFA from mid-June to mid-July, which has not been without controversy from clubs and federations.
At the starting line, Simone Inzaghi's Nerazzurri will be the favorites in the Italian league: Marotta and Ausilio have managed to keep all the starters from last season, adding Zielinski and Taremi on free transfers. The goal now is to sign a new defender to complete the backline.
The official debut for Lautaro and his teammates is set for August 17 at 6:30 PM against Gilardino's Genoa. The first direct clash of the season is scheduled for August 30, before the international break, at home against Gasperini's Atalanta. The first Derby della Madonnina against Fonseca's Milan will take place on the weekend of September 21-22 (with the return leg on February 1-2, 2025). There is also great anticipation for the Derby d'Italia against former player Thiago Motta's Juventus: the two league encounters are set for the 9th and 25th matchdays of Serie A, respectively on the weekends of October 26-27, 2024, and February 15-16, 2025.
