Gennaro Gattuso is the new head coach of the Italian national football team. The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) confirmed the appointment in an official statement released through its media channels. The unveiling will take place on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Parco dei Principi Hotel in Rome.
FIGC president Gabriele Gravina welcomed the new manager with enthusiasm: “Gattuso is a symbol of Italian football — the Azzurri jersey is like a second skin to him. His motivation, professionalism, and experience will be vital as we face the challenges ahead. We’re fully aware of the importance of our objective, and I thank him for his commitment and readiness in embracing this challenge. He shares our broader vision for Italian football, where the national team is at the strategic heart of development”.
Gattuso, a 2006 World Cup winner, now takes charge of Italy as the Azzurri look to rebuild ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
