Tudor prioritizes the Nigerian striker but keeps Gyökeres and Retegui on the radar. Tonali remains a tough target

Igor Tudor is shaping the new Juventus with a clear vision, and the top priority is securing a high-caliber center-forward. Despite growing optimism over Randal Kolo Muani’s permanent stay following his loan from PSG, the club is pushing forward with plans for a marquee signing. Talks with Dušan Vlahović and his agents are still pending—his contract expires in 2026—but sporting directors Comolli and Giuntoli are keeping the market warm.

Tudor’s preferred target is Victor Osimhen. Fresh off a 37-goal season with Galatasaray and now back at Napoli, the Nigerian is seen as ideal for stretching defences and scoring in every conceivable way. Giuntoli, who built a strong rapport with the player during his Napoli days, has already secured Osimhen’s openness to the move. Comolli has since reopened negotiations with the striker’s camp and is preparing a strategy to sway De Laurentiis. The €75 million release clause, valid only for foreign clubs, expires in mid-July. Juventus will look to leverage Italy’s Growth Decree, though competition is fierce, with PSG, Al Hilal, and several Premier League sides circling.

Meanwhile, Viktor Gyökeres remains a viable alternative. The Swedish striker scored a staggering 54 goals in 52 matches for Sporting, attracting serious interest from Arsenal and Manchester United. Mateo Retegui, Serie A’s top scorer last season with Atalanta, and young Argentine Santiago Castro, now with Bologna, also remain on Juve’s shortlist, offering different profiles but strong appeal.

In midfield, Tudor dreams of bringing Sandro Tonali back from Newcastle, but the deal looks unlikely due to financial hurdles and Premier League resistance. Atalanta’s Ederson is a quality alternative, but the €60–65 million valuation is proving prohibitive. This has led Comolli to consider more sustainable options, with 20-year-old Mateus Fernandes of Southampton—represented by Jorge Mendes—emerging as a smart loan candidate.

As for full-backs, Juventus have initiated talks for Flamengo’s Wesley, a Brazilian right-back viewed as a key part of the club’s revamp on the flanks.

In defence, moves will depend on potential departures. If Lloyd Kelly, signed in January, draws interest from Premier League clubs, Tudor is ready to pursue Marseille’s Leonardo Balerdi—a player he knows well from their time together in Ligue 1.
