Giuntoli secures the 21-year-old Portuguese on a €4.5 million loan. Motta gets his defensive reinforcement

Juventus continues its winter transfer activity, securing another defensive addition. Renato Veiga, a 21-year-old Portuguese talent from Chelsea, is set to join the Bianconeri. Juventus’ sporting director, Cristiano Giuntoli, finalized the deal after days of negotiations with the Blues, agreeing to a dry loan worth €4.5 million, including the player’s salary. The official announcement is expected soon, making Veiga the club’s second winter signing after Alberto Costa.

Giuntoli’s efforts don’t stop there, as he aims to provide Thiago Motta with at least two new defenders. Lloyd Kelly from Newcastle is another top target, with talks progressing toward a temporary move. Meanwhile, securing Kevin Danso from Lens remains more challenging, and negotiations for Feyenoord’s David Hancko appear increasingly difficult. Feyenoord’s recent qualification for the Champions League playoffs, following a victory over Bayern Munich, has made the Dutch club even more reluctant to part with their Slovakian center-back.

Juventus is moving decisively in the market, determined to strengthen Motta’s squad for the challenges ahead in the second half of the season. The addition of Veiga is a step toward building a more robust and competitive team.
