Bad weather played a significant role in the 4th round of the Lega A basketball championship. The match between Virtus Bologna and Tortona, scheduled for Sunday at the Segafredo Arena, was postponed to a later date. However, in Saturday’s early games, both Trapani Shark and Vanoli Cremona claimed important away wins, defeating Varese (100-109) and Napoli (81-87), respectively.
It was the first win of the season for Vanoli, while Trapani secured its third consecutive victory, moving up to second place, a position it now shares with Virtus Bologna, Olimpia Milano, Brescia, Reggiana, and Trieste. On the other hand, both Napoli and Varese remain stuck at zero points, having lost all four games they’ve played so far.
The only home victory of the day came from Germani Brescia, which, in front of its home crowd, defeated Sassari 94-87. Meanwhile, Milano, Venezia, Trento, and Reggiana all won on the road. Olimpia, after a hard-fought game, avenged its two Euroleague losses by defeating Givova Scafati 83-78.
Umana Reyer Venezia had no trouble overcoming Pistoia, defeating them by 13 points, with a final score of 64-77. Trento continues its unstoppable run, securing its fourth consecutive win by triumphing in Treviso (76-83), and now leads the standings solo with eight points. Reggiana is also enjoying a good moment; after victories against Cremona and Treviso (85-97), they also won in Trieste, climbing to second place in the standings with six points.
