Dembélé’s brace sinks Saint-Étienne, while OM wins in Rennes thanks to Greenwood and former Juventus star Rabiot

The 17th round of Ligue 1 witnessed a head-to-head between Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille. Luis Enrique’s side maintained their lead at the top of the table by securing a 2-1 victory over Saint-Étienne. At the Parc des Princes, the Parisians wrapped up the first half with a two-goal cushion, courtesy of an Ousmane Dembélé double. In the second half, a goal by Zuriko Davitashvili for the Greens served only to pad the stats. PSG remains unbeaten with 43 points (13 wins and 4 draws) and boasts both the best offense (46 goals) and defense (15 goals conceded) in the league.

Marseille, led by Roberto De Zerbi, sits seven points behind with 36 points after their 2-1 triumph in Rennes. Goals from former Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood and ex-Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot secured the win.

Monaco, managed by Adolf Hutter, stumbled with a 2-2 draw away to Nantes but remains third with 31 points. Hot on their heels is Franck Haise’s Nice, now just one point behind after a 4-2 away victory over Reims, powered by a brilliant performance from Gaetan Laborde.

In fifth place with 29 points is Bruno Genesio’s Lille, following their third consecutive draw, this time a 0-0 stalemate against Auxerre. Lyon’s struggles continued with their second defeat in three games, losing 2-1 to Brest. Mahdi Camara and Ludovic Ajorque sealed the win for Brest, with Lyon’s Jordan Veretout reducing the deficit just before halftime.

Seventh-place Lens (27 points) secured a 2-1 away win at Le Havre’s Stade Oceane. Despite an early lead from André Ayew, Lens turned the match around with goals from Goduine Koyalipou and Deiver Machado. Montpellier’s woes deepened as they fell 3-1 at home to Angers, remaining at the bottom of the table with just 9 points from 17 matches and the worst defense in the league (42 goals conceded).

Finally, Strasbourg clinched a crucial away victory over Toulouse, thanks to a stunning brace from Emanuel Emegha.
