Liverpool’s impressive 26-match unbeaten streak in the Premier League has come to an end. The Reds were handed a 3-2 defeat by Fulham in London, a surprising result given their early lead and recent dominance. The last time they lost in the league dated back to September 14, against Nottingham Forest.
Things started well for the visitors, with Mac Allister putting them ahead in the 14th minute thanks to a neat assist from Gravenberch. But what followed was a defensive collapse: three goals in 14 minutes from Sessegnon, Iwobi, and Rodrigo Muniz turned the match on its head.
Despite a spirited second-half push, highlighted by Luis Diaz’s goal in the 72nd minute, Liverpool couldn’t complete the comeback. Harvey Elliott struck the crossbar late on, and Federico Chiesa, coming off the bench, failed to capitalize on a last chance. Remarkably, it was the first time in 48 games that Liverpool lost after taking the lead — the last instance was on April 1, 2023, against Manchester City.
This latest setback adds to a worrying trend: three defeats in their last four matches, including a Champions League loss to PSG and a League Cup final defeat to Newcastle. While their lead in the standings remains intact for now, the momentum seems to be shifting — and the title race could be far from over.
