Igli Tare is the new sporting director of AC Milan. After a long and successful spell at Lazio, Tare has been chosen by Zlatan Ibrahimović and Giorgio Furlani to lead the Rossoneri’s rebuild following a disappointing season. Speaking to Milan TV, the Albanian executive laid out his vision for the club.
"At Milan, you have to win straight away. I want to see a team that fights for the shirt and has the hunger to win. It's crucial that we all work together, with support from Furlani, Zlatan, and Moncada. Coming to Milan is a dream come true. I have clear ideas and a lot of energy, and I want to immediately pass that on to everyone in the Milan environment. My role is focused on the transfer market, and I intend to do it with passion. For me, belonging means a lot — anyone who comes to play for Milan must understand the weight of this shirt. In the end, everything is tied to results and winning on the pitch."
"I had long talks with both Furlani and Zlatan. We discussed every detail and dynamic. I believe I know exactly what needs to be done, and we have to be ready to act right away. We need to start the right way — expectations are high. It’s been a long and frustrating season, and while I experienced it from the outside, I know what went wrong. Now I bring not just clarity, but enthusiasm. That’s what I want to inject into the club: energy, ambition, and the desire to bring Milan back to the level we've all known throughout its history."
