The Spanish rider controlled the race at Buriram, letting his brother Alex lead before sealing a perfect weekend

Marc Marquez stamped his authority on the Thai Grand Prix, dictating the pace with a masterful strategy and leaving his rivals powerless. Pole position, Sprint victory, and a dominant race win: the Ducati rider completed a perfect weekend in Buriram, extending his championship lead to eight points over his brother Alex and fourteen over Bagnaia. A ruthless and calculated Marquez, slowing when needed and striking at the right moment.

“He played with us the whole race,” admitted Pecco Bagnaia, who finished third, just like in the Sprint. The reigning MotoGP champion tried to challenge the Marquez brothers but found himself unable to match Marc’s perfect race management. “I tried to stay close to Alex to attack him, but I just couldn’t. Marc controlled the race brilliantly,” Bagnaia added, acknowledging he had miscalculated his tire choice.

From the start, Marquez pulled away immediately, gaining a one-second gap on Alex, who had taken advantage of a slight mistake from Bagnaia. The race seemed set in stone until lap seven, when Marc deliberately slowed down at Turn 3, letting his brother take the lead to preserve his front tire. The strategy allowed Pecco and Morbidelli to close in, making the battle more uncertain.

With three laps to go, Marquez decided it was time to take control again, surging past Alex with ease. His younger brother had no answer, while Bagnaia attempted a late charge but had to settle for third. Ducati swept the podium, with Morbidelli fourth and a surprisingly strong Ogura fifth on the Aprilia.

Among the standouts of the day were Bezzecchi, finishing sixth and showing promising signs for Noale, and Bastianini, who secured ninth place on the KTM, just ahead of Di Giannantonio’s GP25. Meanwhile, reigning champion Jorge Martin remains sidelined with injury and will also miss the upcoming race in Argentina.
