Marc extends his perfect streak in the short races, with brother Alex securing second place again. Bagnaia fights back after a tough start

Marc Marquez continues to dominate the Sprint races in the MotoGP World Championship, securing his fifth consecutive win at Jerez and matching Jorge Martin’s record of straight Sprint victories from last season.

The Spanish rider once again proved unbeatable on his Ducati, leaving no room for his rivals. His brother, Alex Marquez, delivered another solid performance, finishing second and strengthening his hold on the runner-up spot in the overall standings. Francesco Bagnaia completed the podium, recovering well after a challenging start.

The race was electric from the very first corners, with Fabio Quartararo and Marc Marquez battling for the lead. Despite starting from pole, the Yamaha rider couldn’t hold off Marquez’s charge and was forced to give up the position after an aggressive move by the Spaniard on lap two at turn six. Quartararo’s attempt to fight back ended in a crash, clearing the way for the two Marquez brothers to dominate the race.

Marc set a relentless pace that kept him comfortably ahead, with only a slight mistake five laps from the finish — not enough to reopen the fight for victory. Bagnaia, after losing ground early on to Alex Marquez and engaging briefly with Franco Morbidelli, managed to climb back into third place but couldn’t close the gap to the Gresini rider ahead of him.

Morbidelli finished fourth, just ahead of a determined Fermin Aldeguer, who battled hard against Fabio Di Giannantonio (6th). Ducati showcased its dominance by placing all six of its bikes within the top six positions. Rounding out the points were Maverick Vinales (KTM) in seventh, Marco Bezzecchi (Aprilia) eighth, and Joan Mir (Honda) ninth.
