The Turkish Football Federation has handed a four-match suspension to José Mourinho, head coach of Fenerbahce, following incidents during the recent Istanbul derby against Galatasaray. The decision comes after Mourinho allegedly referred to the opposing technical staff as "jumping like monkeys" and directed offensive comments towards the fourth official.
Galatasaray responded firmly, announcing plans to initiate legal proceedings against Mourinho and to file official complaints with UEFA and FIFA, describing his statements as "inhumane and immoral."
In defense of the Portuguese coach, Didier Drogba, former striker for both Galatasaray and Chelsea, stated, "I have known José for 25 years and can say with certainty that he is not racist."
Fenerbahce, on their part, dismissed the allegations, claiming Mourinho's words were taken out of context and deliberately misrepresented. The club expressed intent to pursue legal action against what it termed "pathetic slander" aimed at manipulating the competition off the field.
