The Italian rallies after losing the first set and awaits the winner of Djokovic vs. Carabelli in the next round

Lorenzo Musetti is back in the spotlight at the Miami Open, advancing to the Round of 16 for the second straight year. The world No. 16 overcame a slow start to defeat Felix Auger-Aliassime (No. 19) in three sets, winning 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.

Musetti struggled early against the Canadian’s power game, but gradually found his rhythm and began dictating the pace. Auger-Aliassime, hampered by a sore thumb and an uncharacteristic 51 unforced errors, couldn’t keep up as the Italian took control of the match.

Now Musetti will face either Novak Djokovic or Camilo Ugo Carabelli in the next round, depending on the outcome of their clash.

Meanwhile, two more Italians will take the court today in Miami: Jasmine Paolini is set to face former world No. 1 Naomi Osaka in a first-ever meeting between the two, while Matteo Berrettini will challenge Zizou Bergs, the Belgian who stunned Andrey Rublev in the previous round.
