Further down the table, Juventus and AC Milan are losing ground. The Bianconeri are now seven points behind the league leaders and four points off fourth place. Fonseca’s Milan is even further adrift, sitting nine points from the Champions League zone and 12 points behind Atalanta.
AC Milan still needs to play their postponed match against Bologna. Meanwhile, Vincenzo Italiano's team has climbed level with Milan on 22 points, reigniting their push for a European spot.
