The first round of Nations League matches for the season is nearing its end. On the final evening, the Netherlands drew with Germany at the Johan Cruijff Arena in Amsterdam. The hosts opened the scoring through AC Milan's Reijnders, aided by an error from the German defense, but Germany turned the game around before halftime with goals from Undav and Kimmich. In the second half, Inter’s Dumfries scored a late equalizer, sealing the 2-2 draw. In the other Group 3 League A match, Hungary and Bosnia played to a 0-0 stalemate at the Puskás Aréna in Budapest.
In League B, England defeated Finland 2-0, led by a double from Harry Kane, who celebrated his 100th cap for the national team in style. In the same group (Group 2), Greece also made it two wins from two with a 2-0 victory over the Republic of Ireland. Georgia took the lead in Group 1 after a 1-0 win in Albania, while Ukraine, currently bottom of the table, suffered another defeat, losing 3-2 to the Czech Republic under the watchful eyes of Andriy Shevchenko.
In League C, North Macedonia beat Armenia 2-0, while Paolo Nicolato’s Latvia edged past the Faroe Islands 1-0. In League D, Malta secured a 1-0 away win against Andorra. The Nations League will return from October 10 to 15 with the third and fourth matchdays. Luciano Spalletti’s Italy will face a double home challenge against Belgium (October 10) and Israel (October 14).
