Portugal also secured a victory, once again led by Cristiano Ronaldo: a 2-1 win over Scotland, with McTominay opening the scoring before Bruno Fernandes and CR7 completed the comeback. Ronaldo, who came on at halftime, reached 901 career goals.
Denmark and Croatia also won their matches against Serbia and Poland, with Luka Modric starring for the Croatians. Denmark secured a 2-0 victory thanks to goals from Gronbaek and Poulsen. Sweden also impressed with a win over Estonia, led by goals from Isak and a brace from the ever-reliable Gyokeres.
