Oscar Piastri delivered a flawless performance to clinch victory at the Bahrain Grand Prix, continuing McLaren's stellar form and marking his fourth career win. The Australian now sits just three points behind championship leader and teammate Lando Norris, following a weekend of total control. “It’s been an incredible few days,” said Piastri. “We’ve never really gone well here before, so to win now is just fantastic. Big thanks to the team for giving us this car.”
George Russell brought his Mercedes home in second, surviving an investigation for mistakenly activating his DRS outside the allowed zone—he was cleared without penalty. Lando Norris, who started from the wrong grid slot and served a five-second penalty, fought back valiantly to claim third after a series of aggressive overtakes. “A messy race from my side. I made too many mistakes,” he admitted. “Disappointed to miss out on a McLaren one-two.”
Ferrari's Charles Leclerc finished just off the podium in fourth. Starting from the front row, his race was impacted by an early tyre strategy mismatch and a poorly timed safety car. Despite showing solid pace, he couldn't hold off Norris in the final laps. Hamilton completed a strong recovery to take fifth, while Max Verstappen endured a tough afternoon. Brake issues hampered the Dutchman, who crossed the line sixth—well off the leaders.
Pierre Gasly took seventh for Alpine, ahead of Haas driver Esteban Ocon and Yuki Tsunoda in ninth. Young Brit Ollie Bearman scored the final point in tenth. Kimi Antonelli, affected by track limit penalties and race neutralization, finished just outside the points in P11.
