Nottingham Forest continued its dream run by holding Liverpool to a 1-1 draw at the City Ground. The home side took an early lead through Chris Wood, but Diogo Jota's second-half equalizer salvaged a point for the Reds. Despite missing out on the full three points, Liverpool stays at the top of the table, while Forest keeps its grip on second place.
The game couldn’t have started better for the home side. Just eight minutes in, Hudson-Odoi dispossessed Salah and set up Elanga, who found Chris Wood in space. The veteran striker slotted home his 13th goal of the season, igniting the crowd. Forest's defense, led by Milenkovic and Murillo, was rock solid until the 60th minute when substitute Jota headed home from a corner to level the score.
Despite a dominant second-half performance, Liverpool couldn’t break the deadlock, thanks to brilliant saves by Belgian goalkeeper Sels and a last-minute block by Aina. Arne Slot’s men remain the title favorites, but Forest has proven once again that they’re a team to be reckoned with, holding firm in second place.
In London, Manchester City threw away a 2-0 lead against Brentford. Phil Foden’s brace, assisted by De Bruyne and Savinho, seemed to have sealed the victory. However, Wissa pulled one back after a defensive blunder from Aké, and in stoppage time, Nørgaard outjumped Akanji to head in the equalizer, sending the home fans into a frenzy. The 2-2 draw keeps City in sixth place, 12 points behind Liverpool.
Chelsea's winless streak stretched to six games after a 2-2 draw with Bournemouth. Cole Palmer gave the Blues an early lead, but Solbakken equalized from the penalty spot before Semenyo put the Cherries ahead. Reece James, back from a long injury, rescued a point with a stunning free-kick in stoppage time. Despite the late heroics, Chelsea remains fourth and could drop further if Newcastle wins its game in hand.
