After unveiling the schedule, Serie A has also announced the fixtures for the first three matchdays of the new 2024-2025 championship. The season will be inaugurated by Inter, the Italian champions, on Saturday, August 17, at Gilardino's Genoa. The first big matches are scheduled for the third matchday: Inter vs. Atalanta, Juventus vs. Roma, and Lazio vs. Milan. Following the third round, there will be a break for international fixtures, the first of four scheduled for the upcoming season.
Serie A will also pause on the weekends of October 12-13, 2024, November 16-17, 2024, and March 22-23, 2025, for international commitments. The only midweek round is scheduled for Wednesday, October 30, 2024. The season will conclude on the weekend of May 24-25, 2025, a few weeks before the start of the new Club World Cup, which will feature Inter and Juventus and will take place in the United States starting in mid-June. This year, there will be no winter break: matches will be played on the weekends of December 22 and 29, as well as January 5, 2025.
The chase for reigning champions Inter has already begun. Simone Inzaghi's team remains the favorites according to bookmakers. Following closely are Thiago Motta's Juventus and Antonio Conte's Napoli, with Fonseca's Milan, the two Roman clubs, and Atalanta in the second tier.
