The Serie C weekend has concluded with Monday's late matches, and there are no changes at the top of any of the three groups, with two teams still boasting perfect records. Both are in Group A: Padova and Renate, who continue their winning streaks, making it 5 out of 5 in this season's start. Padova secured an away win, defeating Pro Vercelli 3-1, while Renate won 2-1 on Virtus Verona’s turf.
These two teams are already trying to break away, taking advantage of Caldiero Terme's loss at Trento. Vicenza now sits in third place, four points behind the leaders, with Caldiero Terme and Lecco at 9 points, already six points behind the top two. Group B, however, remains much more balanced.
Pescara and Entella maintain their lead in the standings, but with two draws. The Abruzzo team couldn't get past a 0-0 draw in the big match against Perugia, while Entella was held to a 1-1 draw by Pianese. Both teams now have 11 points, with Ternana moving up to third place with 10 points after a victory away at Vis Pesaro.
The Marche team, along with Torres, Gubbio, and Arezzo, is at 9 points, just two points behind Pescara and Entella. Lastly, in Group C, Benevento delivered an impressive performance, crushing Foggia 4-0 to take the top spot in the standings. However, the chasers are close behind: Benevento is now at 12 points, with Picerno at 11, and Potenza, Monopoli, and Audace Cerignola at 10 points. The first real breakaway after the first five rounds is only happening in Group A with Padova and Renate. The teams will be back on the pitch soon for the second midweek round of the long Serie C season.
