The eighth weekend of the Serie C championship has concluded with some important results and several surprises, highlighting which teams will compete for the top spots and which will not. Starting with Group A, the marquee match was between Padova and Vicenza. A highly anticipated derby between two teams vying for top positions, it saw Padova extend their lead in the standings thanks to a 1-0 victory, with Liguori scoring the decisive goal. Padova is now eyeing a breakaway, while Renate stays close behind with a 2-0 away win in their derby against Lecco. Behind them, other teams faltered: Lumezzane (2-0 against Trento) and Atalanta U23 (a 1-3 home loss to Giana Erminio) both dropped points.
In Group B, Pescara held onto the top spot with a 2-1 victory away at Ascoli. Meanwhile, Ternana couldn't get past a 0-0 draw with Campobasso and was caught by Entella, who secured a 3-1 home win over Legnago. Arezzo (2-0 against Torres) and Perugia (4-0 over Lucchese) also claimed victories. Milan Futuro lost again, this time at home to Pianese (0-1), and remains in second-to-last place with just 6 points.
Finally, Group C has proven to be the most unpredictable so far, with three teams tied at the top with 16 points each. Benevento and Picerno were both held to draws, with Benevento finishing 0-0 against Messina and Picerno 1-1 against Cavese. Monopoli took advantage, winning 1-0 away at Team Altamura. Cerignola and Catania have closed the gap with wins over Turris (0-3) and Casertana (1-3), respectively. Avellino is also slowly getting back into contention, having thrashed Crotone 4-0 away at the Scida.
