Jannik Sinner powered past Ben Shelton to book his place in the Wimbledon semi-finals, where he will face Novak Djokovic

World No. 1 Jannik Sinner showed no signs of being hampered by his elbow issue, defeating Ben Shelton 7-6, 6-4, 6-4 in the Wimbledon quarter-finals to secure his spot in the last four. It was a convincing performance from the Italian, who had dropped two sets against Grigor Dimitrov in the previous round.

Next up for Sinner will be Novak Djokovic, who advanced with a four-set win over Flavio Cobolli. It will be the third consecutive Grand Slam meeting between Sinner and Djokovic. The two have faced off twice at Wimbledon before: in the 2022 quarter-finals and the 2023 semi-finals, with the Serbian winning on both occasions. However, Sinner has won their last four encounters across all tournaments.

In the women’s draw, Iga Swiatek has reached her first-ever Wimbledon semi-final, defeating Liudmila Samsonova 6-2, 7-5 in one hour and 50 minutes. She will now face Switzerland’s Belinda Bencic, who overcame world No. 7 Mirra Andreeva with a double 7-6 win in two hours and ten minutes. It marks Bencic’s biggest victory since returning from maternity leave and her first Grand Slam semi-final since the 2019 US Open.
