Jannik Sinner’s new season is about to begin. After his triumphs at the ATP Finals and Davis Cup, followed by a brief vacation, the Italian tennis player is preparing to fly to Australia for the year’s first Grand Slam: the Australian Open, scheduled from January 12 to 26. As a warm-up, Sinner will take part in the Opening Week, a charity exhibition tournament held in Melbourne.
The prestigious event will also feature stars such as Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic, Alexander Zverev, and home favorite Alex De Minaur.
Sinner’s debut match is set for January 7, when he will face Alexei Popyrin, ranked 24th in the ATP rankings, on the Australian hard court. The match is scheduled for 4:00 PM local time (around 6:00 AM in Italy). The Italian star will return to the court on January 10, with the match set for 9:00 AM Italian time.
