Carlos Alcaraz is through to the Wimbledon semi-finals once again. The Spaniard, champion in 2023 and 2024, returns to the last four at SW19 for the third consecutive year, brushing aside home favourite Cameron Norrie (world No. 61) with a dominant 6-2, 6-3, 6-3 victory.
Next up for Alcaraz is Taylor Fritz. The American, seeded No. 5, overcame Russia’s Karen Khachanov (seeded 17) in four sets, 6-3, 6-4, 1-6, 7-6, to reach the semi-finals of a Grand Slam for just the second time in his career, following his run to the US Open final last year where he was defeated by Jannik Sinner. The head-to-head record favours Alcaraz, who has won both of their previous encounters.
In the women’s draw, America’s Amanda Anisimova, currently ranked No. 13 in the WTA rankings, battled past Russia’s Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 7-6(1), 7-6(9) in a tight contest lasting an hour and 41 minutes. Meanwhile, Aryna Sabalenka had few problems dispatching Germany’s Laura Siegemund in straight sets.
