Jannik Sinner moves into the Wimbledon quarter-finals after Grigor Dimitrov retires injured. Djokovic and Cobolli also through

The quarter-final line-up at Wimbledon is now set. Novak Djokovic did not falter, booking his place in the last eight at SW19 for the 16th time in his career and the eighth year in a row. The world No. 6 rallied from a set down to beat Australia’s Alex De Minaur 1-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 after three hours and 20 minutes on court. Up next for Djokovic is Italy’s Flavio Cobolli, whom he defeated comfortably in Shanghai last year, conceding just three games. Cobolli reached his first-ever Wimbledon quarter-final after defeating Marin Cilic in four sets (6-4, 6-4, 6-7, 7-6).

There was disappointment for Lorenzo Sonego, who bowed out to American Ben Shelton, while world No. 1 Jannik Sinner progressed after Dimitrov was forced to retire due to injury while trailing by two sets. The upcoming quarters will see Fritz take on Khachanov, and British hope Cameron Norrie face defending champion Carlos Alcaraz. Thursday’s schedule will feature Sinner against Shelton and Cobolli taking on Djokovic.

In the women’s draw, Iga Swiatek and Mirra Andreeva advanced after beating Tuason and Navarro, respectively. Liudmila Samsonova and Belinda Bencic also progressed, seeing off Maneiro and Aleksandrova.
